Introduction

My name is Joan Baldridge!

I am a Senior!  Super proud can't you tell!  I am working on my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood / Special Education with a minor in English.  That is where this class comes in.  This is one of two English classes I am taking this summer.  I have one more class to finish my minor.  I love to read.  I am married with one child who will be in high school next year, God help me! I am excited about blogging.  I have always wanted to write a humor column.  I thought about writing about my life living with a child in high school.  There should be tons of material for that.  I grew up reading Irma Bombeck.  I could always relate to her because she came across scattered and obnoxious just like me.  She portrayed the mother I always knew I would be: crazy, hysterical, honest, open, fun-loving, emotional, supportive, strict, and totally madly in love with my child.  My son is my greatest joy and arch nemesis all rolled into one.  My teaching background in emotional behavior disorder puts him at a serious disadvantage.  I have been there, done that, and wear the t-shirt everyday.   My husband is a corrections officer at the Georgia Diagnostic Prison and my high school sweet-heart.  I want to learn as much about literature so that if necessary I can be an effective high school English teacher if jobs are limited.  I wanted to broaden my opportunities as much as possible.  I love literature and talking about it.  I am looking forward to conversing with you about the literature we will be reading this session.

Have a great day,

Joan
